Beschreibung

In French language didactics, reading is considered one of the major skills to be acquired by learners. The reading course aims to develop learners' reading strategies and to make them able to establish a written communication from a text. However, experience shows that most of the time the teaching of reading in foreign mango in Iran is put in the service of other skills and it does not provide learners with the necessary tools to better explore the text. This research on reading and reading comprehension in EFL studies the explicit teaching of reading strategies among Iranian students/learners in academic and institutional settings. Our research shows that explicit teaching of reading strategies can help Iranian EFL learners overcome their comprehension difficulties and guide them towards independence. It should be noted that in such teaching, the teacher plays a significant role.
