The book deals with issues related to multicultural education implementation in English teaching. Firstly, main approaches to multicultural education are described. Subsequently, choice of transcultural approach as the main theoretical concept of the thesis is justified. Thirdly, basic school English teachers¿ ideas about multicultural education and its implementation as well as their current multicultural education practice are examined by means of semi-structured interviews. Finally, lesson plans based on materials present on website www.czechkid.cz are designed building on the concept of transculture and the information gained from the interviews.
