Synthesis and Characterization of Calcium Pyrophosphate Nano-particles

Chapter-I begins with the introduction of nano-particles, their properties and technological applications with outlines of different synthesis techniques of nano-particles. Altogether, it also covers the introduction of mineral calcium pyrophosphate, its properties and signi¿cance with applications in different ¿elds. This chapter also gives details of the scope of this thesis and signi¿cance of the study. Chapter-II brie¿y describes different analytical techniques used to characterize the synthesized CPPD nano particles. These techniques are powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Optical Microscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Thermo-gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Impedance Spectroscopic Studies (IS) and Energy Dispersive Analysis of X-ray (EDAX). Chapter-III deals with the synthesis and characterization of CPPD nano particles. CPPD nano-particles are synthesized using surfactant mediated approach and characterized by various analytical techniques. The results are discussed.
