SYNTHESIS AND APPLICATIONS OF CONDUCTING POLYMERS

During the past decades, the conducting polymers have been studied continuously due to their promising noteworthy applications for developing the electronic and optoelectronic devices. Conducting polymers has the fascinating chemical as well as physical distinctive properties generated from their conjugated ¿-electron arrangement which contains the single and double bonds alternatively along with the polymer chain. In addition, the oxidation number of the conducting polymer can be affected by the doping and de-doping of chemical as well as electrochemical reaction mechanisms, resulting the sensitive and expeditious response to the speci¿c components. Most of the conducting polymers such as polypyrrole, polyaniline depend on the electrochemical sensing techniques which are amperometric, potentiometric, and conductometric analysis. Moreover, the electrically conducting polymer has distinguishing properties which can immobilize the biomolecules, resulting the rapid electron transfer process is occurred to fabricate the efficient biosensors.
