Sub-State Actors Foreign Relations: Kurdistan Region as an example

Nowadays, sub-state actors can be seen as one of the emerging and most influential actors in the international arena. Sub-state actors foreign relations can be seen around the world, but it is most visible in Western industrialized countries. There are several different sub-national governments and regions that practice international relations, including Quebec, Wallonia, Catalonia, the Basque region and, of course, the Kurdistan Region. This book begins by explaining the term and concepts of international relations with the goal of answering questions about the viability of pursuing foreign relations for sub-national governments, diplomacy, and paradiplomacy. It then, specifically, illustrates the case of Kurdistan region of Iraq, and how Kurdistan Region practices its foreign relations with its neighboring states and other countries all over the world.
