STUDY OF ATTITUDES TOWARDS THE PROFESSION OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The attitude of a person toward another plays a very significant role in life. In today's scientific and highly professional life right attitude towards any professional is of prime importance. The concept of attitude has been the most influential of all social psychological constructs. However, its little influence appears to have gone down drastically, particularly during the last decade or two. Functionally speaking, an attitude is not a response but a more or less persistent set to respond in a given way to the situation. It is an organized and consistent manner of thinking, feeling, and reacting regarding any event in one¿s surroundings. The pressure, forces, and dynamics of one¿s surroundings are, therefore, contributory to the development of Attitude, which in turn gives shape to one¿s behavior. The surroundings of a healthy Attitude will largely depend upon the social-cultural, economic and educational of persons living in a society.
