Studies applied to Forest Ecology

The idea of this book is to demonstrate, in a clear and objective way, some methodologies used to conduct studies and classes that aim to address the different themes of Forest Ecology, such as plant, water and soil analysis. Within the Forest Engineering course, Forest Ecology is a science that should be applied in practice, through activities developed in the field. Many times, the teaching consists only in dialogical and/or expositive methodologies, without contemplating the possibilities of exercises that can be performed outside the classroom environment and that can be integrated to the production of knowledge through scientific research.The purpose of this book is to present methodologies of data collection, which can also be applied in the teaching-learning process of Forest Ecology. The methodologies that will be addressed in this book are based on experiences developed and improved for over 20 years by the team of the Forest Ecology Laboratory of the Federal University of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
