Student's Automaticity of Math Facts and Mathematical Performance

Automaticity of basic Math facts is an important skill to solve complex Mathematics like Algebra, Geometry, Trignonometry, and Calculus. It is the ability of the students to answer basic math problems in speeding and accurate way in an effortless manner. Likewise, students who failed to master the basic math facts will result in low mathematical performance and math anxiety. In addition, basic Math skills are mastered in elementary grades, but most of the students failed to develop it. Many of the teachers in junior high school forcibly re-teach math facts and taking time away from the standards they are accountable for teaching at their grade level. Intervention program using technology is highly recommended to the students to develop their automaticity in Math facts in preparation for the 21st Century Skills of problem-solving.
