Structural and Functional Analysis of Tropical Urban Homegardens

This book is an artistic output of many research papers, researchers efforts to provide an information on highly diverse structure and multiple functionality of homegarden and to revive back the ecological and socioeconomic sustainability of homegarden in Kerala, though there has been adverse affect on the traditional practice of homegarden.The highly diverse structure and multiple functionality of homegarden would satisfy the various needs such as food, medicine, fuelwood, timber needs of household. The intensive cultivation and vertical and horizontal arrangements of plants provide a better use of light, water and other resources. The study shows that large and medium homegardens were found to be economically profitable.
