This book ¿Stress and Coping Strategies - Mothers of children with Autism and Mental Retardation¿ is a collection of details regarding various Psychological stress and psycho-social problems of mothers who are taking care of their children with autism and mental retardation. This research has carried out in various rehabilitation centers at Hyderabad named Sweekaar Rehabilitation Institute for Handicapped and National Institute for Mentally Handicapped, and Tagore Hariprasad Rehabilitation Center, during the period of 2010 - 2011. Book includes five chapters with references; it explains various psycho-social problems of mothers of children with autism and mental retardation in detail. It was comparative experimental design with two groups of mothers of children with autism and mental retardation. The mothers of children with autism and mental retardation experiencing same level of stress and using active coping, emotional support, instrumental support, positive re framing, planning, acceptance, and religion as coping strategies to overcome with their stress.Author was also worked with Indian Institute of Public Health as a Rehabilitation Psychologist.
