Storage Of Grains In Warehouses

This is a piece of work carried out with in-depth research and analysis.The study targeted three commercial warehouses; Ejura Farm Warehouse in Ejura, Ashanti Region which is a government establishment, and two Private establishments; Afrique Link Warehouse in Wenchi, Brong Ahafo Region and Duase Warehouse at Buokrom, Kumasi, Ashanti Region.Data was collected through administration of questionnaires as well as personal interaction with warehouse attendants in the three areas of study.Data obtained showed that all three study areas practise basic warehouse storage management. Grains are bagged in 50kg mini polyethylene sacs and stacked on pallets in all the three warehouses. All three warehouses practice the ¿first-in-first-out¿ method of storage.
