Steel Structures Diagnosis by Cone Indentation

In the present work, the problem of developing a method and a compact device for determining the mechanical characteristics of steel directly on the structure at any stage of the life cycle is considered. For this purpose, the problems of elastoplastic impact indentation of a conical and truncated conical indenter are considered and the experimental results are given. The book summarizes the authors' many years of research in the field of material testing to determine their mechanical characteristics, such as yield strength, ultimate strength, elongation, hardness. Practical examples of application of the proposed method on real constructions are given, when other methods of estimation are ineffective.
