Standards of Intercountry Adoption and Ethiopian Adoption Standards

The book discusses and analyzes international minimum standards of inter-country adoption, compare the same with actual Ethiopian adoption standards and deduce from such analysis whether adoption standards of Ethiopia meet international minimum standards to keep best interest of child. Furthermore the book suggests possible standards that Ethiopia need to adopt to safeguard best interest of child. The book was written while Ethiopia is among major countries sending their children abroad through inter-country adoption. Hence the author wants to show gaps and loopholes of legislation, if any, so that if rectified best interest of the child will be protected hence, adoption will not be profit driven industry with children as the commodity in Ethiopia. The book is intended to serve law makers as source book. It also serves law school students and scholar whose area of interest is adoption, child rights and makes further researches.
