Nowadays, the growth of urban squatter settlements is a particular challenge to developing countries. The shelter crisis experienced by many cities of the world are the result of rural- urban migration, rapid urbanization process, chronic shortage of low cost houses and accompanied basic social, physical infrastructure and services. The presence of squatter settlements is one indication of the extent of housing poverty in any country.
