Some common herbs in Iranian traditional medicine

Iranian traditional medicine (Persian traditional medicine) is one of the most famous and the most ancient forms of traditional medicines. There are many methods and material in Iranian traditional medicine, for curing and Mezaj improvement, like Hejamat, Baad kesh, Fasd, Moshtomal (Massage), Rayehe Darmani (Aroma therapy) etc. One of these methods is use of herbal medicine. There are about 6,000 medicinal herbs in the current borders of Iran, while in the past, Iran's size has been much wider than today's borders. Because of this, today some plants that are known as imported medicinal plants belong, in fact, to flora of great Iran. Officially, in Iranian traditional medicine, about 1000 plants are used for treatment and other species are used by local populations based on their ethno-botanical knowledge. In this book we try to introduce some common Persian herbs and present few plants that are used in Iranian traditional medicine.
