Soil physiographic characteristics of calcareous basaltic soils

For the better utilization of land and water resources and to tackle soil problems, a systematic study of soil physiographic characteristics is necessary. Keeping in these views, the soil physiographic characteristics of calcareous basaltic soils were studied in JAU, Junagadh, Gujarat in India. Research topics covered were soil physiographic characteristics, soil mineralogy, soil classification, evaluation & management of soil and water constraints,climate resources constraints and soil-site suitability evaluation for crops in five landforms of calcareous basaltic soils. The reserve water and water balance of any command area can be computed based on simple soil physical parameters formulas which are given in book.
