Sociological jurisprudence and Nigerian Legal System

Sociological Jurisprudence teaches the study of Law in relation to society. In the modern world today every society has laws governing its existence. Some of these Laws by and large may not be practically useful to its society because it unfortunately fails to reflect the tenets of the society; the social order. Although law should reflect the society, law must not be static just as the society itself is not static. Every society is in a constant state of flux. Law must be able to push ahead the society for advancement and progress. The exigencies of social stability, class conflict and struggle must be balanced and taken care of by law.
