Socio-economic Development and Ecological Degradation

Environment is one of the most important component by which we are affected. With industrial development, although we achieved a great success in every aspects of life, we lost a very important component i.e. environment. The success came on the cost of environment. With every economic development we human's have destroyed the beautiful environment of mother earth. At present pollution, a very serious problem, has contaminated our soil, water and air resources. Deforestation has resulted in loss of biodiversity. Many of the plants and animals are extinct and many are endangered. Monocropping pattern of agriculture has resulted in loss of belowground biodiversity which is of great importance in maintaining as well as proper running of ecosystem. Food chain is fully disturbed and planet earth is getting dominated by only few species. is great need to tackle the environmental problem so that we can provide a better and beautiful environment to our coming generations. In this book we have tried to study problems and solutions to save our environment.
