Social Responsibility in India

The subject of this book is relevant in the current context and captures the processes and practices deployed by companies at a time when CSR was not mandatory in India. This book is attributed to the M.Phil dissertation on "Embedding Corporate Social Responsibility in firms in the Indian context" in 2013 by the author. Twenty-One firms belonging to the automotive, IT enabled services, oil, gas and energy, and, Banking sectors were studied to understand their philosophy, organization structure, environmental and social contributions. The book captures the holistic functioning of the Corporate from the perspective of CSR philosophy, structure as well as managerial aspects. The book will be of value for Business Management students, CSR practitioners, and researchers aiming to understand the social responsibility aspects of the Business.
