Social Development and Sexual Behavior in Adolescents

The book explores the development of social skills and how they influence sexual development among adolescents. Through an empirical investigation of the possible effects of Self esteem, Emotional Health, and Social Competence on Romantic Relationship among Adolescents, it was found out that social competence and emotional health significantly influences romantic relationship. The book thus noted that while healthy romantic relationships have many potential benefits for adolescents, unhealthy relationship pose risks that may have lasting effects. Therefore, the authors suggested that efforts should be made by parents, especially to ensure that the needed affection and attention that are essential for their children¿s social and psychological development are put in place.
