Sheep infection by Haemonchus

Anthelmintic resistance especially to haemonchus infection is becoming head ache world wide including Ethiopia. This study helps in minimizing anthelmintic resistance to haemonchus infection by treating only the heavily infected sheep by avoiding mass treatment by using FAMACHA chart as a clinical determinant.This technique avoids mass treatment which is the most serious cause for anthelmintic resistance. it was checked in developed countries like South Africa and USA where they have intensified management system in big farms where as in developing countries like Ethiopia where they have poor management practices are still not yet practiced. so this study helps as an optional control method of anthelmintic resistance in developing countries like Ethiopia.
