Serving the led: Torti's leadership option for an African village provides a theoretical and practical solution to the pervasive African leadership challenges. It investigates and identifies an African leader who has made tremendous impart in the life of many and focuses on providing servant-leadership characteristics as a veritable option to other leadership theories that has not been effective in Africa.It also addresses the lack of awareness of the effect of servant-leadership, the urgent need for servant-leaders in Africa, unique ways of inspiring African leaders to serve-first, identifies individuals as role model, evaluates the people's leadership mindset and empowers future African leaders to take the lead in serving-first. The research helps us gain understanding of who is a true servant-leader and what inspires him/her. Servant-leadership is one of the leadership theories gaining attraction in different part of the world and applying its characteristics would help harness the African leadership instability.
