Self Presentation : Narcissism and Self Esteem on Facebook

There has been a lot of talk about facebook mania in the media. Many people know surprisingly little about the effects of exterme usage of facebook in terms of updating status off and on or about the people who post them. A new study appearing in this Book on the topic: "Self Presentation: Narcissism and Self-Esteem on Facebook" reviewed the relationship between status updates and Facebook usage. Are people who update their status by posting selfies or by writing a note frequently on social media sites especially on facebook are narcissistic or have low level of Self-Esteem? In this study, I examined self-Presentation, along with triats of narcissism, level of self-esteem and Facebook usage. Very slight gender differences are found in the examination of the results.
