Self-Harm Urges, Psycho-Causes and Psychotherapy: DBT at Work

The issue of self-harm which always starts with the urges has been neglected by the scientific community and the public in Nigeria. So, there a gross dearth of scientific information and treatment for those who are prone this problem in prison and general populations. This Book therefore empirically identified those who experienced self-harm urges among inmates of a Nigerian prison and investigated possible psychological and criminological causes. The efficacy of DBT in reducing self-harm urges among Nigerian samples was also confirmed. This Book is therefore useful for all who are concerned with the criminal justice system in Nigeria.
