Opening chapter titled ¿Invasive pests of agricultural importance in India and their management through classical biological control¿, discuss about the invasive pests in the Indian subcontinent. An Overview of the Beneficial and Harmful Orthoptera of grasslands and Agroecosytems analyses the grasshoppers, locusts and crickets. The beneficial and harmful aspects of large carpenter bees of the genus Xylocopa and the root mealy bugs of black pepper (Piper nigrum)¿ are detailed out in the subsequent chapters.
