This book is primarily intended for use by university and postgraduate students pursuing studies in the natural sciences and related fields. However, it will also be useful and practical for teachers and researchers in this field. This secondary metabolites course material is written in simple language, proposing examples classically cited in articles and practices used today by professionals especially in the fields of herbal medicine; with the intention of making young students understand the fundamental principles that govern the extraction and determination of secondary metabolites.
