The appearance of science was preceded by a huge time period of human formation. Occurrence and development of its social and labor activity, expansion and strengthening of its social relations determined the improvement of cognitive activity of the man. Manufacturing and use of tools required acquaintance with different properties of minerals, wood, later - metal. Hunting for animals and their domestication required learning the places where they lived, the structure of their bodies, their habits and features of life. At the early stages of human development, his knowledge of reality was still small. They could be fully held in his memory, transmitted orally from one generation to another. In the process of further development of society, in connection with the increasing social division of labor, social practice is expanding and becoming more complicated. The knowledge of people is so enriched that the memory of an individual is no longer able to capture and preserve it. The beginnings of scientific knowledge have gradually but steadily developed. Within the limits of not yet dismembered totality of knowledge about reality there was a gradual process of accumulation of knowledge in different areas.
