Schema Theory and Reading comprehension: a Micro-structural approach

This book is an attempt to introduce the Micro-structural Schema-based Instruction (MSBI) of reading passages. MSBI which is an innovative look at Schema Theory (a deeply-rooted learning theory in the history of mankind), claims to have the potential of becoming a new paradigm in the field of reading passages' teaching and learning and can revolutionize learners' reading capacities thanks to its theoretically sound foundation. Under MSBI, not only may students have a better perception of reading passages but also they would be familiar with the function of each and all words compromising the texts. Moreover, learners can identify the applied differences of synonymous words which is neglected in traditional methods of teaching reading passages.
