Saving and Investment Behaviour of Rural House Holds in Erode District

The developing countries like India need funds for economic development and growth. Growth and transformation over the last two decades, making India one of the most dynamic economies in the world today and an important destination for companies from across the globe. The three variables that measure the growth of an economy are Income, Savings and Investment. The present study concentrates to investigate the avenues of investment by the investors in various financial and physical investment avenues. The objectives are to analyse the socio-economic and demographic factors of the investors in Coimbatore district, to evaluate the level of awareness towards investment avenues, to understand the perception and preference of avenues influenced the respondents towards investment, to find out the risk and returns perceived by the investors after investment and to contribute suggestions.
