Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana-A Model Village

The government introduced number of schemes for the rural development since the independence. These schemes mainly related to one or the other subject such as education, health, agriculture, women empowerment, basic amenities etc. They were subject driven schemes. As we know 68% of the people live in rural India.If the villages achieve development, it certainly leads to county¿s development. The concept of development means sustainable, holistic development and comprehensive development, which includes achieving personal, social, human, economic, environment development, social security and good governance in the village. To achieve these objectives both center and state government formed different scheme under different departments. The central government imitated to build a model village through effective implementation of all government schemes under one roof. The responsibility to build such a model village was given to Member of Parliament and in 2014 government introduced Saansad Adarsh Grama Yojana(SAGY) a model village scheme to bring holistic development of the village. The government fixed the time frame and target to be achieved by 2024.
