Romania's Foreign Policy as Debated in the Bucharest Parliament (1899-1914)

The present study intends to analyse the reflection of Romaniäs foreign policy in the parliamentary debates during 1899-1914. Furthermore, another proposed objective was to determine whether and how the Romanian foreign policy was influenced by the discussions in the Parliament. Considering the proposed objectives, I focused primarily on reading and analysing the parliamentary debates of that period, and where information was missing, due to the secret character of some meetings, I tried to fill the gaps by press, memoirs and journals or other sources. Although I did not intend to exhaustively analyse the Romaniäs foreign policy during 1899-1914, for a pertinent and thoroughly investigation of the parliamentary debates regarding the proposed subject, I have studied edited sources of the Archives of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Historical Central Archives in Bucharest, as well as works on the history of international relations and Romania from that period.
