Role of Freedom in Economic Development of India

This book is a collection of fifteen informative and empirical articles turned into chapters on the role of freedom in economic development of India. It touches such important topics as the free flexibility of Indian Rupee, Dutch Disease, Trade liberalization as a successful policy and many others. It is evidenced that the 1991 series of economic reforms has helped the process of economic growth and more efforts in further reforms are badly needed. The main explanation of the Indian development miracle is how the free industries such as information technology and computer software have been greatly successful. We bring out the main arguments in supporting the hypothesis that future for Indian economy can be brighter if we continue making the progress of liberalizing markets, adopting more free trade policies, reducing taxes, changing the labor and company laws, revamping the legal system and continuing the improvement of infrastructure.
