This work presents a detailed scenario of the increasing number of road traffic accidents, their Spatio-temporal variation and the underlying relationship among growing population, number of motor vehicles and road accidents in Assam based on relevant secondary sources including Census of India, State Police Department, Assam and Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Assam. The present study is expected to help understand the current road traffic scenario and its related cases of injuries and deaths in Spatio-temporal dimension in brief. The results and database of this work shall also serve as a medium of necessary input and base for future study.
