Risk Indicators of Depression among Undergraduate Nursing Students

Depression has become an increasing global burden for most undergraduate students and is considered one of the common mental disorders affecting college/university students. Risk indicators of depression highlight the pointers or signals which play a massive role in the development of depression. This is relevant in our Nigerian universities where students go through many stressors in the school community and even outside it. There is paucity of literature on the risk indicators of depression among undergraduate nursing students; thus, this study examined the risk indicators of depression among undergraduate nursing students in the faculty of nursing sciences, Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State.
