RFID in Paper Industry

"Automatic item-level identification of goods provides an opportunity to improve the efficiency of any supply chain." As the above statement is applicable to almost all types of businesses, use of radio frequency identification (RFID) as an advanced identification method has recently become highly popular among several industries. However, the paper industry has been remarkably slower in utilizing RFID than many others, because of the characteristics of a paper reel, which makes paper reel identification one of the most challenging RFID applications. To be efficiently utilizable across the entire paper industry, RFID identification requires high reliability and consistency over the long and complicated, even intercontinental, supply chains.
