RESTRUCTURED POWER SYSTEMS

Few decades back, in many countries in the world the power system is recognized as Vertically Integrated Utility (VIU) and which is under the control of government. The significant drawback of this VIU is lack of competition and even they don¿t have competitor in electricity market. However, well establishment of Restructured Power System in many countries across the world is treated as a good remedy. The deregulated power system has more benefits and the significant objective of this system is to promote good competition. To provide least cost services to the customers in reasonable and transparent manner and for the overall growth of the system more research contributions by the researchers is required when competition is developed in the system. In this book, some best methods for significant issues like Congestion Management, improvement in Available Transfer Capability and distribution system reliability of the deregulated power system have been suggested. All the suggested methods in this book are helpful to the system operator to enhance better services to the network customers.
