Research of Leprosy in Viet nam

Vietnam officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is the Eastern most nation on the Indochina Peninsala. It boders China to the North, Laos to the Northwest and Combodia to the Southwest. In Vietnam, the climate is subtropical in the North and tropical in the South. The hot, humid weather influences a wide range of skin diseases such as fungus, acne, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, skin infections ¿Vietnam health care system comprises by four administrative levels of health establishment: central, provincial, district and commune levels. At the present, public health care sector widely coverage from central to grassroot levels. Vietnam government targets to make health care system universal and affordable for all people. In the past, leprosy was a major public health in Viet nam. Due to the strong stigma attached to the disease, patients who have successfully completed treatment were found to be leading a segregated life. In order to change the situation of the disease, in 1982 the National Leprosy Control Program (NLCP) was established and Multidrug Therapy (MDT) was implemented one year later (1083).
