Representation of the Male Character in Selected Kenyan Films

Few studies have been done on how cinematic medium representation shapes the identities of men and how it enhances their cultural posturing. Lately, many filmmakers and cultural theorists have urged the need for proper gender mainstreaming as opposed to the clamour for emphasis on the girl child. This book goes a long way in revealing the varied reasons as to why the male is portrayed as the dominant figure in the selected Kenyan drama films.
