Renewable Energy in Nigeria

This book is based on the prospects of Renewable Energy for Environmental Sustainability in Nigeria by means of an effective legal and institutional framework. Renewable Energy is an effective approach to Environmental Sustainability and by extension, to Sustainable Development. This book examined the effectiveness of the existing legal and institutional framework of Nigeriäs power sector in solving the perennial problems of an energy shortage, environment degradation, and economic development. The claim of the study is that positioning Nigerian energy policies, laws, and regulations to encourage the use of renewables to produce energy is essential to ensuring Environmental Sustainability. This book is intended to show how laws and policies are an integral part of measures needed to promote the development and use of Renewable Energy in Nigeria.
