Removal of Organic Pollutants from Wastewater by Combo Treatment

Industrial effluents contain lot of organic compounds that are harmful to the environment. Treatment of wastewater is a major challenge to the industries.The main aim of wastewater treatment is to reduce the pollutant load of industrial and domestic wastewater in such a way that it can comply with the standards specified by the legal agencies and can be discharged into the environment. This book gives an overview of wastewater treatment options available. The manufacturing plant of N,N¿-Dichloro bis (2,4,6-trichlorophenyl) urea produces wastewater containing pyridine, acetic acid, diphenyl urea. This book provides a solution for complete mineralization of pollutants of wastewater released from CC-2 plant. Coagulation, absorption, advanced oxidation, biological treatments and a combo treatment are discussed. This book should help to design and develop an environmentally benign treatment method for various industrial wastewater containing hazardous organic compounds. Evolution of combo treatment method may be a better option for treatment of industrial wastewater.
