REFORMS IN THE SAUDI LEGAL SYSTEM AND HOW THAT WILL IMPACT

INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking, through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, to improve and reform the judicial system according to Islamic law (Sharia law). 1 One of the most important reforms to make in the country is in the judicial system. At the judicial level, former King Abdullah ordered the establishment of specialized 2 criminal, commercial, personal, and labor courts. 3 There are many benefits to upgrading the current judicial system, such as easier access to rights for lawyers and international investors, with the goal of achieving the highest level of integrity and justice, which cannot be obtained without continuous development of the current system.
