Recent Advances In Orthodontic Diagnosis

In orthodontics, one need not look for to find information voids, assumptions, and misrepresentations. Unfortunately, this has lead to controversy and in many instances misdiagnosis and improper treatment. One reason for this situation is that our current method of patient evaluation and analysis is limited. The patient records (photographs, radiographs and study models) have not changed for decades despite the abundant literature on its limitations. As assumptions and ¿clinical experience¿ are used to fill in the information voids, new methods have been developed that allow for accurate, unambiguous patient assessment and analysis.This book contains essential information regarding orthodontic and dentofacial orthopaedic diagnosis and it's recent advancements including role of CBCT technology in orthodontic diagnosis.
