Realities & Resuscitation of Professionalism In Healthcare

Gradual intrusion of commercialism into the realm of medicine replacing the trust based, bilaterally rewarding patient-doctor relationship with irreconcilable business ethics of cost and benefit is the main reason behind progressive deterioration of professionalism in this sacred profession. This has resulted in loss of faith in professionals and the profession alike and is a major contemporary threat in the field of healthcare. This situation calls for immediate and planned resuscitative measures to revive professionalism among healthcare professionals.
