Rational use of psychotropic drugs in a residential home for adolescents

The encounter with the waste of society and its consequences is something common for physicians who have the decision to offer part of our life to recover what a priori is considered unrecoverable. I think, in the limited time we have to try to modify something of the course of a life, knowing the limit of that opportunity that only some have. If my question is: is it worth trying? The answer is yes, always. It is always worth doing without knowing the final result. The worst, the worst of all, is to do nothing. In the face of hopelessness, subjective urgency and the desire to stop suffering, the use of psychotropic drugs relieves pain, allows us to think and believe that something is possible. Perhaps it helps to think and talk and talk and talk and talk ... of what only a few want and can hear.
