"Quercetin" Ameliorate Rotenone Toxicity

The book focuses on the reproductive health of farmers who work in the field and are exposed to various types of pesticides. In this study, we also concentrated on how this reproductive toxicity can be prevented. Rotenone is an organic pesticide used to induce Parkinson¿s diseased model. It is a well-known neurotoxin but this study has been reported that it is also harmful to the male reproductive organ such as the testes. Quercetin is a plant flavonoid abundantly found in fruits, vegetables and some beverages. It has strong antioxidant properties among other such as vitamin C and vitamin E. In this study the treatment of rotenone orally given to the mice for sixty days and assessment of oxidative stress parameters, a histological study has been performed to investigate rotenone toxicity on mice testes. Co-treatment of quercetin was also given to the mice together with rotenone for sixty days.
