Quantification of Project Success

This paper discusses the possible quantification of project outcomes. The analysis is performed using the Iron Triangle framework¿s criteria. Following a brief introduction into the field of project management and success criteria, this paper explores the measurement of performance, attempting to grant insight into the approach necessary for quantifying project outcomes. This is succeeded by an analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data sets comprised of an interview series and an online survey. These datasets address the Iron Triangle criteria hierarchy and the potential for quantifying success through the definition of tolerance levels. The findings of this research show that although a preliminary interval segmentation could successfully be defined, further research in the field is necessary. On the one hand, to obtain further insight into the interval definitions through the exploration of additional scenarios in a large population survey. On the other hand, to better differentiate between stakeholder perspectives, rather than generalizing the findings across the different groups, which would disregard perception differences between stakeholder groups.
