Ayurveda translates into knowledge (Veda) of life (Ayur) and is one of the oldest and still widely practiced medical systems in the Indian subcontinent. The concept of ayurvedic medicine is to promote health, rather than to fight disease, and Ayurveda in daily life aims at maintaining harmony between nature and the ¿individual¿ to ensure optimal health.
