Quality Consciousness in Education

Quality Consciousness is a must for any individual with an easy access to any part of the world in all fields, including education. The market has become competitive. People have access to information about education systems of any place on the globe. With the increased communication and mobility of goods and services, people are more conscious of quality education. It was felt that if beginning teachers or teachers at the preparatory stage are quality conscious or are made aware of quality dimensions, then this will reflect in their attitude towards their work. Quality consciousness is nothing but quality awareness & knowing of its dimensions. As it is a new concept, Total Quality Management and Personal Development Skills aspect are considered for identification of quality in terms of dimensions and its awareness to the student-teachers in different colleges of education. The researcher has developed a self constructed tool by identifying 12 dimensions of quality consciousness which are Tangibles,Reliability,Responsiveness,Assurance, Empathy,Commitment,Competence,Communication, Customer Satisfaction,Participative Management, Cultural Transformation & Continuous Improvement.
