Psychosocial Dispositions of Creative Musicians

This research started with researcher¿s curiosity about the sources of creativity in music. Besides, researcher wanted to study how the musicians realize their creative potential. What are the psychological and social characteristics, which augment their creativity in music? To examine these issues this research focused on sociocultural background, personal dispositions, and developmental phases of a creative person. In briefly, this research attempted to address the question posed by Gardner (1993) ¿where creativity lies? More specifically, this research addressed three core questions. These questions are: (1) What are the psychosocial dispositions that contribute to the development of a person as a creative musician? (2) What are the processes of learning and practising music? (3) What does the process of creative music making involve?
