Psychology of Spousal Abuse in Marriage: Help for Victims

This book examines in-depth the psychology of spousal violence, that is, it highlights some real life cases of spousal violence from the counselors desk point of view so as understand the implications in the Kenyan context. Causes are discussed in relation theoretical perspectives, myths and misconceptions and the biblical views. Indicators/ characteristics of abusers are examined from different understandings, while implications and consequences from the abused point of view, the children, family members, and the community are examined and rationalized. Possible intervention measures including the cultural, religious and legal implication when confronted with spousal abuse are also highlighted and addressed so as to give hope and reassurance to the victims.
